Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has launched its latest budget smartphone- P7 in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 9,999, Gionee P7 will be company's year-end product and will be available for sale starting 12th December 2016 in color variants of Gold, White and Grey.

VoLTE Enabled with 5-inch HD display

The highlight feature of Gionee P7 is the VoLTE support, which will allow consumers make Voice over calls over internet via networks such as Reliance Jio.

The P7 also offers CDMA connectivity and sports a 5 inch HD IPS display with Soda lime protection. As far as design goes, the smartphone has a back arc to create a comfortable and right grip, and a transparent and glittering 3D mirror with ripple effect pattern.

Hardware and Software

The Gionee P7 runs on Quad core 1.3GHz processor paired with 2GB of RAM to support multitasking.

The smartphone runs on Android OS, V6.0 Lollipop with Gionee's Amigo 3.2 software layer.

Cameras

The smartphone has an 8MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera and with screen flash support to capture images in low-light conditions.

Storage, Battery Connectivity

Gionee P7 has 16GBof internal memory that is expandable by up to 128GB via microSD card. There is a 2,300 mAh i-ion polymer battery that as per Gionee offers a standby time of 259 hours.

In addition to VoLTE and CDMA, the smartphone also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, dual-SIM support, FM and GPS.

Looking at the specifications and features, we can say that the P7 is a stripped down version of the P7 Max that was launched recently at a price of Rs. 13,299. However, Gionee P7 is still not the best buy at Rs. 10,000 price-point. The smartphone will fight the likes of Lenovo K6 Power and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, which also shares the same price tag but offers better overall hardware and features.
