5 things to know about the rumoured Moto X (2016)
Motorola might launch the next Moto X very soon with top of the line hardware and some interesting new features.
It was believed that Lenovo owned Motorola has killed the ambitious Moto X series for its innovative Moto Z modular smartphones. However, some latest leaks suggest that the company is working on the next generation Moto X device that might see the light of day very soon.
The new handset will be the third in the Moto X series and is expected to be the last big launch of Motorola for the year 2016. It will take on the likes of Apple, Samsung, LG, HTC and Chinese counterparts.

Let's find out more about the upcoming smartphone with the help of following points.
Appeared on noted websites
As per a leak, the upcoming flagship Moto X goes by the model number- XT1662 and was certified by the CCC (China Compulsory Certificate for imported products). The website is known for certifying the upcoming handsets from smartphone makers.
The same model also passed through GFX Bench a few months back and popular leakster Evan Blass also tweeted an image of a smartphone with the title- Mystery Moto, hinting that this might be the new Moto X.
Shatterproof AMOLED display
The new Moto X is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display with shatterproof glass technology, which was previously seen in Moto X Force.
The smartphone is rumoured to have thinner-side bezels and a metal unibody design.
Top-of-the line Hardware
The new Moto X is supposed to be a high-end smartphone that will be backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/821 chipset paired up with 4 GB of RAM.
The smartphone is expected to feature a 16MP/2160p main camera and 8MP/1080p selfie cam. There will be 32GB internal storage with memory expansion slot and all required connectivity features.
Support for Moto Mods
It is not yet confirmed that the new Moto X will support the ‘Modular' design or will carry the same old Moto X tradition. We believe the company will extend the Moto Mods support to Moto X line-up as the recently launched Moto Z and Moto Z Play along with Moto Mods have seen a positive response from consumers around the globe.
Multiple Moto X variants
Motorola introduced a total of three Moto X variants last year (Moto X Play, Moto X Style and Moto X Force) and the company might carry the same tradition with the upcoming smartphone. As per leaks, Moto X (2016) will have two variants- one with a 5.5-inch QHD screen and Snapdragon 820 chipset and another with a small 4.6-inch 1080p screen and a MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) chipset paired up with 3GB of RAM.
