Alcatel Idol 4 Launched in India at Rs. 16,999; Comes Bundled with VR Headset and JBL Earphones

The Alcatel Idol 4 will be exclusively available via Flipkart, starting today.

    Alcatel, the Chinese smartphone firm, today at an event in New Delhi launched the Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone in India. The smartphone was first unveiled at the MWC 2016 along with Alcatel Idol 4s.

    The Alcatel Idol 4 joins the list of Flipkart exclusive smartphones, and it will be available from the e-commerce site starting today at 2 PM. Interestingly, the company is bundling a free VR headset along with the smartphone and also, the retail box comes with JBL headphones, which is a good thing to see.

    5.2-inch 1080p Display

    The Alcatel Idol 4 comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display, which further results in a pixel density of 424 PPI. And, the display has support for multi-touch up to 10 fingers.

    Mid-Range Chipset

    The Idol 4 is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 chipset, which is an octa-core chip with four cores clocked at 1.7GHz and four of them clocked at 1.2GHz. There is an Adreno 405 GPU to enhance the graphics performance in the smartphone. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card slot.

    Mediocre Cameras

    The Alcatel Idol 4 comes with a 13MP rear facing camera and has dual LED flash as well. Frontal, there is an 8MP camera, which also has support for the flash light. The phone also has an inbuilt beautification mode.

    Special ‘BOOM’ Key

    One of the unique features in the Alcatel Idol 4 is the presence of ‘boom' key on the right side of the phone. The boom key allows users to quickly access camera, gallery, videos, games, and other applications which you set.

    Smaller 2610mAh battery

    Another disappointment with the Alcatel Idol 4 is that it comes with a 2610mAh battery and has support for QuickCharge 2.0. The phone has several connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
