The Apple Keynote event is scheduled to happen today at San Fransisco. The Cupertino giant unveils the next-generation iPhones at the launch event itself.
If the rumors were believed to be true, the iPhone, which Apple launches today will be called as the Apple iPhone 7. However, there are some other rumors as well, which say that the smartphone will be dubbed as the iPhone 6SE.
For the first time, Apple accidentally revealed the names of their upcoming iPhones. A Reddit user while browsing through Apple's official site for accessories saw the names of Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus listed. Having said this, Apple was quick in removing the listing, but the user grabbed a screenshot of the listing, which allegedly confirmed the naming of the smartphones.
It didn't stop with that. A press image of the iPhone 7 is also posted by a twitter user @the_malignant, which further confirmed that the 3.5mm headphone jack is going away. Before the official launch today, we got the five features of the upcoming iPhone 7 which are confirmed by various leaks.
Apple iPhone 7 Design
There isn't much change with the design language of the smartphones when compared to its predecessors. But, the major change will be the antenna bands are now moving to the top of the smartphone. Also, the smartphones are expected to be thinner than the previous iteration of iPhones.
Goodbye 3.5mm Headphone Jack
Many rumors have suggested this. Also, if the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are expected to be thinner, then it will be because of the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Also, the company is planning to ship a lightning cable to 3.5mm jack converter and a wireless Bluetooth earpads with the retail box itself.
iPhone 7 Storage
The Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are expected to arrive with 32GB model as the base variant, which is a welcome change as iPhone lovers all over the world have been asking this for ages. The other storage variants include 128GB and 256GB variants.
Processor and Battery
Both the upcoming smartphones are expected to ship with Apple's new A10 processor along with M10 motion processor. The iPhone 7 will pack a 2GB of RAM, whereas the iPhone 7 Plus will arrive with 3GB of RAM.
It is widely speculated that Apple will surely bump the battery capacity of iPhones as both the iPhones are said to feature 14 percent bigger battery than their predecessors.
Dual Rear Camera for iPhone 7 Plus
The iPhone7 will see the same camera as its predecessor, but with a bigger camera sensor. Now, the talk of the town for months is the iPhone 7 Plus camera setup. The bigger sibling is said to feature a dual rear camera with both of them carrying 12MP sensors.
