The Zenfone Zoom has been touted as the thinnest smartphone, adorning a very powerful camera. The smartphone is essentially an iteration of the company's Zenfone 2 smartphone, however with a better camera. The question is that what else does the phone offer apart from the camera prowness.
We pick up 5 Best and 5 worst features of the Asus Zenfone Zoom smartphone. Take a look:
What we love
Starting with the camera, the Asus ZenFone Zoom comes with a 13MP primary camera with optical zoom lens, but without the bulky protruding set up like we saw on Nokia Lumia 1020 and recently on Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. The camera is supported with OIS and a 10 element lens, is capable of focusing from a distance of merely 5cm. There is a 5MP front-facing camera for selfie enthusiasts.
What we love
The Asus Zenfone Zoom is 12mm thick, and weighs 185 grams, which is quite impressive considering that the phone has a optical camera lens. Ergonomics and design-wise, the phone seems quite impressive. The front of the Zenfone Zoom adorns a 5.5 inch full HD display with 1080p display.
What we love
It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor with PowerVR G6430 graphics, which is the same as the Asus Zenfone 2. The processor seems powerful and should work well, considering that it performs well on the Zenfone 2.
What we love
The interesting part is that this smartphone features a massive 4GB of RAM, which is paired with 16/32/64/128 GB of internal storage.
What we love
The smartphone supports 4G LTE network, which is an advantage for those who want to use the higher speed operator services for consuming data.
What we wish it had
The smartphone's battery cannot be removed and that for us is a drawback of this smartphone.
What we wish it had
We wish the phone could have come with IPX certification, that would have made it water and dust resistant. Well, considering it has a good camera, the water and dust resistance capabilities would have made it a perfect adventure travel companion.
What we wish it had
Considering that USB Type-C is one of the hot features, we would have liked the phone even more with this reversible connectivity option.
What we wish it had
The smartphone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, which is relatively older now considering that the Marshmallow iteration has been released for a few smartphones already.
What we wish it had
The presence of fingerprint scanner could have helped the phone score some extra points. Would not it be better to launch the camera instantly for clicking pictures right by placing your finger on a button or a scanner?
