Google Nexus Sailfish: Here's the Leaked Specifications Till Date
Google surprised everyone last year with the launch of two Nexus smartphones- the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. Both the smartphones bought a lot of praise for the search engine giant as the Nexus 6P was the best Android smartphone till the release of OnePlus 2 and the Galaxy S7.
And, this year, Google might be following the same trend of releasing two new smartphones under the Nexus lineup. As of now, the smartphones are dubbed as the Nexus Sailfish (S1) and the Nexus Marlin (M1).
The Nexus Sailfish will be the successor to the affordable Nexus 5X, whereas the Nexus Marlin will be the successor to the premium Nexus 6P. Both the smartphones will come with high-end hardware and the latest Android 7.0 Nougat software.

Having said that, the Nexus Sailfish is in the news for a quite some time now and there are benchmark leaks for the smartphone from the popular AnTuTu and GFXBench. Check out the sliders below to know what Nexus Sailfish will be powered with as per the leaked reports.
The same 5.2-inch screen?
The Nexus 5X arrived with a 5.2-inch FHD display which was pretty decent and the Nexus Sailfish also might arrive with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen as per the earlier GFXBench report.
Powered with Snapdragon 820
Snapdragon 820 was the flagship chipset for the chipmaker. And, all the benchmark reports confirm that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset and the GeekBench reports that it will be a quad-core chip with all the cores clocked at 1.59GHz.
4GB of RAM and 32GB of Internal storage
Google might ditch the 16GB base model for the Nexus Sailfish as the company didn't achieve much success with the 16GB Nexus 5X. So,we might see the Sailfish arrive with 32GB of onboard storage along with 4GB of RAM.
13MP Primary Camera and 8MP Selfie Camera
The camera resolution might be the same, however, Google might be updating the camera sensor. The smartphone is touted to come with a 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP front facing shooter.
Android 7.0 Nougat
This is an expected feature. The Nexus Sailfish will surely come with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box as the company always releases a new smartphone along with new iteration of Android. According to the AnTuTu leak, the smartphone is running Android NMR1 which is known as the 'Android Nougat Manufacturer Release 1'.
HTC-the Manufacturer
There is a lot of hype going around the world regarding this. But, all the leaked rumors till date suggested that HTC will be manufacturing the two Nexus smartphones for the year 2016. It is worth noticing that the first Nexus smartphone was manufactured by HTC back in 2010 and they also have Nexus 9 under their Nexus product portfolio.
Release date and pricing
The much-anticipated question is the release date and pricing. There are no words on the pricing lately and Google might launch the smartphones sometime in September as Android Nougat Developer Preview's final build was released last week. Do make a note that all the Nexus smartphones launched till date were released in the month of October.
