Google is reportedly launching the Pixel 9a next month, which is likely to be the most affordable offering to its Pixel 9 lineup. While there's no official word regarding the arrival of the Pixel 9a, leaks and rumours have already given us enough idea of its specifications, design, pricing, and more. So without any delays, let's look at all the details about the upcoming Pixel 9a.

Google Pixel 9a Launch, Pre-order and Sale Details (Expected)

Google has yet to confirm the launch date for Pixel 9a. However, the brand is reportedly changing its pattern of launching the A series phone this time. The Pixel 9a is expected to arrive in early March while the predecessor Pixel 8a was announced during the Google I/O events in May.

Moreover, the pre-orders for the Pixel 9a are expected to begin on March 19 with shipping starting a week later on March 26. It is said to be available in stores on the same date.

Google Pixel 9a Design and Specifications (Expected)

In terms of design, the Pixel 9a's back panel is most likely to ditch the familiar horizontal camera bar. Instead, the device might opt for a compact oval-shaped module housing two cameras and an LED flash positioned neatly on the left side. It marks a departure to a boxier chassis with rounded corners from the curved aesthetic featured on the Pixel 8a.

On the front, the Pixel 9a will stick with a centrally aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and relatively thick bezels surrounding the display.

Coming to the features, the Pixel 9a is rumoured to have a slightly larger 6.3-inch Actua display compared to the Pixel 8a, with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz and the Gorilla Glass 3 coating. It is most likely to be powered by the Tensor G4 chip which also powers other models in the Pixel 9 lineup. The smartphone is expected to come with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage option.

For imaging, there will be a 48MP Quad Dual Pixel camera, a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 13MP selfie camera. Like its predecessor, all three sensors are expected to be capable of recording up to 4K resolution videos. The Pixel 9a could pack the largest battery ever in a Pixel device, measuring 5,100mAh, which is also an upgrade over the 4,492 mAh battery featured on the Pixel 8a.
