Apple has released a new iOS 10.2 public beta software that brings along several new features and refinements. The iOS 10.2 public beta is the same as Apple's developer version, but as we know, Apple first likes to test the waters before releasing a final build to the public.

If you want to be a part of Apple's beta testing program, you can register to participate through the beta testing website. Once registered, you will have access to both iOS and macOS Sierra betas.

iOS 10.2 Beta build includes several new features to enhance iOS experience. Here's a list of new features coming to your iPhone.

The biggest addition to iOS is the Unicode 9.0 support. This brings several new emojis to iOS including clown face, drooling face, selfie, fox face, owl, shark, butterfly, avocado, pancakes, and more.

Besides, there are also more than a hundred new emojis available in both male and female genders including firefighter, mechanic, lawyer, doctor, scientist, and more.

New Wallpapers and a new Videos app widget

The iOS 10.2 beta 1 includes three new wallpapers that was not previously available. These are the promotional images including Droplet Blue, Droplet Red, and Droplet Yellow.

iOS10.2 Beta also adds a new Videos app widget in the Notification Center. The new widget works similarly to the way the Music app widget works in iOS 10 and will allow you to quickly play/pause the media content.

Hide contact photos in Messages

As per 9To5Mac, if you disable the Show Contact Photos option in Settings → Messages, then the photos that used to appear at the top of Message app conversation threads will be hidden as well. So you can actually hide your contact images in messages conversation in the iOS 10.2.

iOS 10 has truly revamped the iMessage and iOS 10.2 Beta is making new additions to it. The Beta build adds a new full screen celebration effect to iMessage, which is similar to the fireworks full screen effect.

iOS 10.2 Beta 1 also adds a new Preserve Settings panel in the Camera app preferences. The new feature will allow you to preserve the last used Camera Mode, a Photo Filter, or Live Photo setting in the stock Camera app.

Besides, iOS 10.2 Beta also adds a new Siri splash screen, improvements to Notification widgets that can now remember you last location, music star ratings in music app, a new Home button accessibility setting, etc.
