    Kyocera has announced a new Android smartphone dubbed DuraForce Pro that is similar to the DuraForce smartphones in its portfolio. It is a rugged smartphone that is dust, water and drop resistant.

    One of the main highlights is that the Kyocera DuraForce Pro is the world's first rugged smartphone that features a super wide view action camera. The device comes with the necessary certifications such as IP68 that make it a rugged one.

    Spec wise, the Kyocera DuraForce Pro features mid-range specs and it comes with a fingerprint scanner that is embedded in the power button. The pricing of this rugged smartphone is yet to be revealed by the company.

    The Kyocera smartphone meets the military standard

    The Kyocera DuraForce smartphone comes with the necessary certifications such as IP68 that makes it survive underwater up to 2 meters for 30 minutes. The device meets the Military Standard 810G that makes it resistant to shock, vibration, low pressure, humidity, freezing/icing rain, solar radiation and temperature extremes.

    There's a super wide view action camera

    The smartphone features a 13 MP main camera at its back and next to it there is a 135-degree action camera as well. The latter can shoot 1080p videos in any situation just was slow motion and underwater. There are enhanced shooting modes such underwater mode, sports mode, slow motion, time-lapse and other camera filters/applications.

    Glove and Wet touch screen usage

    This rugged smartphone supports the Glove and Wet touch screen operation that makes it pretty easy to use the device and operate the screen even when your hands are wet or you are wearing a pair of gloves.

    Kyocera DuraForce Pro hardware is mid-range

    The DuraForce Pro from Kyocera comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. This processor comes with the X8 LTE mode, 2 GB RAM, and 32 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded up to 256 GB using a micro SD card. A 3,240 mAh battery powers the smartphone and it supports the Quick Charge 2.0 feature as well that can charge the device up to 75 percent faster.

    It is highly secure with enough features

    The smartphone has a fingerprint sensor that is embedded on its home button for biometric authentication. Also, the same is FIDO Certified for a simpler, stronger authentication for popular mPayment/ mCommerce protocols.

    Display is designed to withstand drops

    There is a 5-inch FHD 1080p display on the Kyocera DuraForce Pro smartphone and this screen is designed with a panel that is hardened and impact-resistant to withstand accidental drops.
