Motorola Moto G Play Announced: Will it be Real Contender to Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime
Motorola, after quite some time, launched the watered down version of the Moto G (4th Gen) in India. It's been already five months since the arrival of the fourth generation Moto G smartphones.
The Lenovo-owned company priced the Moto G Play aggressively and says that the smartphone is different from the Moto E series of smartphone. The device is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will be an Amazon India exclusive. It will be up for sale in India from today 10:00PM.

Having said that, with its competitive price, the Moto G Play will go against the likes of Xiaomi's Redmi 3S Prime, which is also available in the same price range. Here are some of the differences which prove that Xiaomi's Redmi 3S Prime is a better option than Moto G Play.

Same Display
The latest entrant, Moto G Play comes with a 720p display, which is of 5-inch size. Whereas the Redmi 3S Prime also has the same screen size and same display resolution.
Powerful Hardware on Redmi 3S Prime
The Moto G Play comes equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with all the cores clocked at 1.2GHz. Also, there is only 2GB of RAM variant available.
On the other hand, the Redmi 3S Prime comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, which is an octa-core one with all the cores clocked 1.4GHz. Also, the smartphone has 3GB of RAM. In terms of hardware, the Moto G Play is nowhere near its rival.
Also, the Redmi 3S Prime has a fingerprint sensor on the back, which the Moto G Play lacks.
Bigger Storage on Redmi 3S Prime
The Redmi 3S Prime comes with 32GB of onboard storage with support for expandable storage via a microSD card slot up to 128GB. The Moto G Play comes with a lesser 16GB of internal storage, however, also has the support for expandable storage.
Redmi 3S Prime has Better Optics
The Moto G Play feature an 8MP rear camera along with a LED flash and 5MP front facing camera. Now, the Redmi 3S Prime comes with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera.
Battery and Software
No doubt, the Redmi 3S Prime is a clear winner in terms of the battery as it has a whopping 4,100mAh battery capacity and is a way too bigger when compared to the Moto G Play's 2,800mAh battery.
On the software front, both the smartphones run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but the Motorola's phone has an advantage of near stock android when compared to Xiaomi's MiUi.
