Samsung has taken the lids off its next Galaxy and yes the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been launched in a San Francisco event today with its mighty and revolutionary S Pen. This is the flagship phablet from Samsung for 2016 and it is already in reports the handset will arrive in India on August 11.
The Galaxy Note 7 is water resistant body and has got IP68 certification, which mean the phone can survive in water up to 5 ft deep for 30 minutes. Further, the phone comes with Samsung Knox including a new iris scanning feature, HDR video streaming capabilities and Quad HD Super AMOLED 5.7-inch screen display.
The next-iteration phablet will also be compatible with Gear VR powered by Oculus and Samsung is offering accessories for Galaxy Note 7 the new S View Standing Cover, a light and portable cover that can be used to prop the device at a 60-degree angle for easy viewing of content, as well as an IP68 water resistant Backpack for on-the-go charging.

Dual-edged Curved Display
The Galaxy Note 7 boasts a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display that has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The screen is a dual-edged curved one as in the Galaxy S6 edge. The display can deliver an ultra-immersive experience with the Gear VR. It can also be used with the Gear 360 to create, edit, and share 360-degree videos. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 that is the latest one with higher level of protection.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU
The device comes in two variants as far as the hardware is concerned. It employs an octa-core 64-bit Exynos 8890 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor under its hood. The RAM capacity on the device is 4 GB. It skips the latest Snapdragon 821 chipset or 6 GB RAM that is a part of a few Chinese offerings such as OnePlus 3 and Le Max 2.
A Huge 64GB Internal Memory
The Galaxy Note 7 will arrive with a huge 64 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded further up to 256 GB using a micro SD card that is on board. This way, the users don't have to face limitations on the storage front.

When it comes to the imaging front, the Note 7 is given a 12 MP rear-facing camera with PDAF and LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing selfie shooter.

The Galaxy Note 7 runs on Android Marshmallow topped with the new and revamped TouchWiz UI. The device will undoubtedly receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update too. The interface has received many changes that are quite significant.

The device comes with an iris scanner that provides high security in addition to the fingerprint scanner. The iris scanning technology will authenticate users to make secure purchases using Samsung Pay and other apps. It also comes with a Secure Folder that will add authentication to ensure privacy of sensitive details.

Apart from the usual connectivity aspects, Samsung has included the new USB Type-C port in the Galaxy Note 7. This way, the users can benefit from improved and faster charging and file transfer as well.

There is a 3,500 mAh battery under the hood of the Galaxy Note 7 that comes along with easy Power Management UX. Also, the device supports wireless charging and fast charging too.
Upgraded S Pen
The new stylus that is a part of the Note 7 comes with a latency of less than 50 ms. It brings the ability to write on the Note 7 under water too. Notably, the phablet will be water and dust resistant even when the S Pen is removed from its slot. It has enhanced pressure sensitivity that gives a real pen-like experience.
15GB Cloud Storage
The Galaxy Note 7 is IP68 certified that makes it dust and water resistant. The device comes with free 15 GB of free Samsung Cloud storage space.
Compatible with Gear Fit 2/Gear IconX
The Galaxy Note7 is more than just a smartphone; it's a connection point to Samsung's ecosystem of devices, software and services. Users can monitor their fitness activities on the Gear Fit2 or Gear IconX and track their data through S Health 5.0.
The Galaxy Note7 will be available starting on August 19, and will be offered in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx. Pre-orders have already begin in select countries and its reportedly said to be coming to India on August 11.
