Recently, an alleged screenshot of the MIUI 9 popped online revealing its version number (9.6.9.23). In addition, a post on the MIUI forum revealed details about the eligible devices that will receive the update. Although there's no official word on these details, let's take a look at what rumours point to.

The rumoured devices which are expected to receive the update include Redmi Note 3, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3S, Mi 4s, Mi 4c, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Note, and Mi Pad 2. A few recently launched devices like Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus were not mentioned in this list. However, we believe that, more devices will be added to this list once Xiaomi officially announces MIUI 9.

The MIUI 9 update is expected to bring support for multi-window, something similar to the one seen on Samsung's smartphones. This feature allows your smartphone to run two apps side-by-side.
