vivo’s Upcoming Smartphone Will Be The First Snapdragon 712 Powered Handset
vivo as a smartphone brand needs no introduction in the Indian market. The innovator has been unveiling powerful smartphones with never-before-seen features in the past one and a half years. After giving this world its first In-Display Fingerprint Scanner and Pop-Up Selfie Camera, the brand is all set to raise the bar once again.
vivo is planning to launch a feature-rich smartphone in the company's all-new 'Z-series' with a new Qualcomm processor. The upcoming vivo Z-series handset will be the first handset to be powered by the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset in under 20K. The 2nd mobile solution from Qualcomm's 700 series of processors is engineered on the 10nm manufacturing process, the same fabrication process on which the flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC is designed.
The all-new Snapdragon 712 chipset is an Octa-core CPU based on Qualcomm Kryo 360 cores and offers a maximum clock speed of 2.3 GHz. The Snapdragon 712 CPU comes with built-in Adreno 616 GPU which is claimed to offer improved gaming performance compared to the previous Snapdragon 710 SoC. The all-new chipset from Qualcomm can drive a 4K display with a maximum resolution of 3360x1440 pixels. In a nutshell, Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 CPU is essentially designed to offer better efficiency compared to the company's previous 12nm processors.
With the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 CPU in action, it will be interesting to see how Vivo's first Z-series handset will write new rules in the mid-range price segment. Going by the company's history of producing innovating mobile devices, we can expect vivo to offer some out-of-the-box features with the upcoming Z-series handset.
While we haven't got any concrete information on other hardware aspects and feature sets of vivo's upcoming handset, we can expect to see a feature-rich camera setup. The upcoming handset can offer a Pop-Up Selfie Camera with a massive sensor, like the vivo V15 Pro. We might get to see a 32MP selfie camera with all the required software features such as HDR mode, Beautify app, Portrait selfie, etc.
vivo has always strived to offer best-in-class multimedia experience with its mobile devices and we can expect nothing less from the upcoming handset. Having said that, we expect the first vivo Z-series smartphone to boast a big FHD+ panel for a full-screen multimedia-viewing experience.
As far as the rear camera is concerned, the upcoming Vivo Z-series handset can ship with a Triple Rear Camera set up with the possibility of featuring a wide-angle lens. We also speculate to see a massive battery unit, latest Android OS and stereo speakers with the upcoming Z-series device.
vivo Z-series is expected to have a special focus on the online market space in India. The company already enjoys a strong presence in the offline market and the all-new Z-series can be a start to rewrite the same success in the challenging online space. The new Z-series from vivo can create problems for other active players in the Indian smartphone space such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, and Asus.
We must also note that the upcoming smartphone is just going to be the start of vivo's ambitious Z-series in the Indian market. We are expecting the brand to unveil a series of smartphones in the coming months. We will keep updating this space with new information on vivo's upcoming Z-series smartphone because the company once again is set to break some records in the Indian market.
