|

Vivo and Poco launched their latest series of midrange Android smartphones recently. The Poco X5 Pro 5G brings decent upgrades over its predecessor, while Vivo has upped the imaging hardware and coupled the same with a powerful MediaTek chipset with the Vivo V27 Pro 5G.

Let's compare the specifications and features of these midrange 5G-enabled smartphones to see which one could be a better choice.

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Vs Poco X5 Pro 5G: Specs, Display, Features, Compared

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Vs Poco X5 Pro 5G: Display

The Vivo V27 sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 × 2,400 pixels. The phone features a refresh rate of 120Hz, an aspect ratio of 20:9, and a pixel density of 388 PPI.

The Poco X5 Pro 5G features a 6.67-inch 10-bit AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ support, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display also supports 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and 1920Hz PWM dimming.

The Vivo V27 Pro 5G and the Poco X5 Pro 5G have excellent AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Vivo smartphone has a slightly larger display than the Poco smartphone but seems to lack HDR10+ support.

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Vs Poco X5 Pro 5G: Performance

The V27 Pro features an octa-core 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, accompanied by a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset powers the Poco X5 Pro 5G. It is a powerful SoC in this price range and can offer you 60fps gaming in popular titles such as PUBG/BGMI and Call of Duty. The chipset is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

Poco has upgraded the chipset inside the Poco X5 series, however, it cannot beat the Dimensity 8200 powering the V27 Pro. Being a Pro series smartphone, Xiaomi should have offered a Snapdragon 8 series chipset inside the Poco X5 Pro 5G.

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Vs Poco X5 Pro 5G: Cameras

The Vivo V27 Pro 5G features a triple camera setup at the rear, which includes a 50MP Sony IMX 766 primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro lens. At the front, the smartphone sports a 50MP camera with autofocus.

The Poco X5 Pro 5G has a triple rear camera setup, headlined by a 108MP primary sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. It is paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro lens. The smartphone has a centrally placed punch-hole cutout on the display for the front-facing 16MP camera.

The Poco X5 Pro 5G does appear to have a lead over the V27 Pro in the imaging department with a 108MP primary sensor. However, Vivo has traditionally offered smartphones optimized for photography. Simply put, only real-world tests could suggest which imaging hardware and accompanying software offer better results.

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Vs Poco X5 Pro 5G: Battery

The Vivo V27 Pro 5G has a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. Poco has embedded a 5000mAh battery, which supports 67W wired fast charging.

Both smartphones can recharge at nearly identical speeds. However, Poco has a larger battery pack, and hence, should offer a slightly longer battery life. Actual battery endurance, however, will depend on usage patterns.

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Vs Poco X5 Pro 5G: Which One To Buy?

Vivo has offered a capable midrange Android smartphone. The Poco X5 Pro 5G is no slouch either. Both smartphones ship with excellent AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Poco X5 Pro 5G does appear to have a lead in the imaging department owing to the 108MP primary camera. However, the Vivo V27 Pro 5G beats the Poco smartphone with a 50MP front-facing camera, which is one of the largest in any smartphone currently in circulation.

Smartphone buyers who love taking selfies should consider the Vivo V27 Pro 5G. However, in terms of value for money, it is tough to beat the appeal of the Poco X5 Pro 5G.
