Xiaomi has started rolling out press invites for an event scheduled on September 27. Although the invite doesn't specifically mention anything about the Mi 5s, it features the English alphabet 'S' which is more than enough for us to confirm it's talking about the Mi 5s.

Recently, the Mi 5s was spotted on AnTuTu benchmark listing confirming the inclusion of Snapdragon 821 chipset.

Snapdragon 821 under-the-hood

Like mentioned above, the Mi 5s is expected to featured the slightly upgraded Snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.4GHz along with Adreno 530 GPU to take care of graphics. Also, it is expected to pack 6GB of RAM.

Curved Display with 3D Touch-like feature

According to the rumour mill, the Mi 5s will feature a curved display with support for a 3D Touch-like feature as first seen on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. In terms of display size, the successor of Mi 5 is expected to retain the same 5.15-inch Full HD display.

Dual Camera setup?

While few speculations indicate at a dual camera setup, few rumours suggest a 16 MP camera at the back and an 8 MP camera at the from for the selfie enthusiasts. We have to wait for another week for Xiaomi to officially confirm about this.

Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor

The Mi 5s is expected to feature Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology. For those who are not in the know, when this technology is integrated under the Mi 5s's glass screen, it will allow its users to unlock the screen by touching anywhere on the screen.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 3,490mAh Battery

The Mi 5s is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with a layer of company's own MI UI 8 on top of it. The beefed up version of Mi 5 is also expected to come with a 3,490mAh battery as opposed to the 3,000mAh battery on its predecessor.
