HTC One (M8) Officially Released: Top 10 Smartphone Rivals To Be Taken Seriously
After months of rumors, leaks and waiting, HTC has finally lifted the veils off the new HTC One (M8) - it's latest flagship smartphone and the successor to the previously released HTC One. The new HTC One (M8) is a major release for the Taiwan-based technology giant and comes at a time when the company really needs to get going in a world that's primarily dominated by the likes of Samsung and Apple.
So it's basically needless to say at this point that a lot is riding on this new flagship phone from HTC when the company's profits and sales continue to fall.
But while a lot of expectations are pinned to the new device, what exactly is the device offering, feature-wise and specification-wise? The HTC One M8 comes comes with a 5-inch Full HD display for greater image resolution and crisper details. And while we are yet to go all up, close and personal with the device, going by the previous rumors related to the same, expect the device to churn out a pixel capacity of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
The device itself runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the new HTC Sense 6.0 UI and revamped BlinkFeed slapped onto it. And going by the leaks related to the same, the HTC Sense 6.0 UI was already said to arrive with motion launch gestures and similar such new features for the new phone.

The new HTC One M8 is powered by a quad core Snapdragon 801 processor that's assisted via 2GB of RAM. Interestingly, the device also has an external MicroSD slot that supports expansion up to 128 GB.
And although the new device comes with a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery, the most interesting feature of the new HTC flagship are its camera offerings. The device sports a primary dual LED camera in the back with dual flash support - dubbed the All New Ultra Megapixel Camera.
Apart from that, there's also a secondary front-facing 5 MP camera that will serve more than enough for conducting video chats or snapping selfies.
But while all that sounds impressive and quite promising, the company will know that it will have a lot of rivals in the market when the device is made official for retail. So who are the most dangerous rivals the new HTC One (M8) faces in its quest for glory? We take a look here at the top 10 devices that will create problems for the device.
