Lava Xolo A800 Android Smartphone to Launch in December: A Big Threat to Budget Phablets in India?
It has not been more than a day since Lava Mobiles launched Xolo A700, a dual SIM Android ICS smartphone for Rs 9,999 to compete with the existing entry-level smartphones in the market. So soon, Lava is reported to be working on another handset – Xolo A800.
According to a recent The Mobile Indian report, the India based handset vendor is all set to launch Xolo A800 in December with an affordable price tag. The report claims that the handset could fall between Xolo A700 and Xolo A900 and that the handset could be powered by Intel Atom processor.
Moreover, the report speculates that Xolo A800 could sport a bigger 5 inch display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution, dual core Mediatek processor clocked higher than 1GHz, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage.
Further, there is also a speculation on the price of the device and it is guessed to be cost Rs 13,000 approximately.
With this information being said, its time to speak about its competition. As Xolo A800 is speculated to have a 5 inch display and Rs 13,000 price tag, the upcoming Lava offering could enter a fight with the budget phablets that are available in the market with 5 inch display.
As of now, the low cost phablet market is occupied by Micromax A110 Canvas 2, Wicked Leak Wammy Note, iBall Andi 5c, Spice Stellar Horizon, Zync Cloud Z5, Intex Aqua 5.0 and Mercury MagiQ, that are priced in the sub Rs 13,000 price range.
Hence, if the report turns out to be true, the Lava phablet could be a direct rival to all these phablets mentioned above as it not only fits in that price range, but also with its higher resolution display.
