Apple iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max: Here’s Everything You Need to Know - Design, Specs, & Price
Apple's flagship iPhone series always creates a buzz, and the anticipation surrounding the iPhone 15 series is no different. Set to be unveiled on September 12th, this new lineup includes the standard iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the higher-end iPhone 15 Pro, and the flagship iPhone 15 Pro Max, which might also go by the name iPhone 15 Ultra. Here, we provide a comprehensive overview of what we already know about these exciting models.
Titanium Frames
One of the most significant changes in the iPhone 15 series is the shift from stainless steel to titanium frames for the premium Pro versions. This transition not only reduces the device's weight compared to its predecessors but also enhances its overall durability. It's worth noting that Apple already has experience with titanium, as it's been employed in the Apple Watch lineup.

USB Type-C
Another substantial design alteration is the adoption of a USB Type-C port for both charging and data transfer. This move towards a more universal port is welcomed by many Apple enthusiasts who have longed for this change.
Solid-State Buttons and an Action Button
Initial rumors hinted at the possibility of solid-state buttons for the iPhone 15 Pro series, utilizing haptic feedback to simulate the sensation of pressing a physical button. However, it seems that these plans have been abandoned due to technical challenges. Instead, there's speculation about a new addition: an Action button. This button, positioned alongside the volume controls, could enable quick actions like launching the camera, toggling the flashlight, activating Siri, and much more.
Enhanced OLED Displays
The iPhone 15 Pro series is expected to have an OLED display with a power-efficient display driver chip. The Pro model will have a 6.1-inch screen, while the Pro Max will have a taller 6.7-inch display that supports Face ID and a Dynamic Island cutout. This panel is also expected to use LIPO technology, which was first seen in the Apple Watch Series 7. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models may have displays with narrower bezels, measuring just 1.55mm, which is significantly slimmer than the 2.17mm bezels on the iPhone 14 Pro.

Apple A17 Bionic
Beneath the surface, both models will be powered by the Apple A17 Bionic chipset, manufactured using a cutting-edge 3nm process. This is expected to deliver a notable performance boost of around 10 to 15 percent compared to the previous generation chip. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max might feature an increased 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM instead of the previous 6GB, ensuring smoother multitasking.
Expanded Storage and Battery Life
Storage capacity is also set to receive a boost, starting at 256GB and potentially maxing out at a whopping 2TB. In terms of battery life, the iPhone 15 Pro is rumored to feature a 3,650mAh battery, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max could house a 4,952mAh battery pack-both larger than their predecessors. There are also speculations of 35W fast charging for the upcoming iPhone Pro series.
Camera Upgrades
Apple is renowned for its cutting-edge camera technology, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to raise the bar even higher. These models are slated to have a 48MP Sony IMX803 primary rear sensor with an f/1.78 aperture. Additionally, they will include a 12.7MP sensor with a telephoto lens and an f/2.8 aperture, as well as a 13.4MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The high-end iPhone 15 Pro Max is also said to have a periscopic telephoto lens for improved optical zoom.

Pricing and Availability
The official announcement of the iPhone 15 series is scheduled for September 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. ET. Apple is reportedly planning to increase the price of these next-gen iPhones significantly. The starting price for the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to be $1,099, which is $100 higher than the iPhone 14 Pro. Similarly, the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra may also see a $100 price hike.
