Apple iPhone SE 4 Launch Timeline and Display Details Revealed
Apple is gearing up to launch the new iPhone SE 4 after giving the iPhone 14 series a mid-year refresh with new colors. According to reports, the launch will happen some time in March 2024. However, unlike the regular iPhones which have followed a certain routine in terms of launch dates, the SE variant has always come as a surprise. The first iPhone SE was launched in 2016, followed by the iPhone SE 2 in 2022, and iPhone SE 56G in 2022.
Now, a new report has tipped the iPhone SE 4 launch timeline and details around the smartphone's display.

iPhone SE 4 May Feature an OLED Display
According to a report by The Elec, the iPhone SE 4 will upgrade to an OLED display made by Chinese display maker BOE. If true, an OLED panel will be a significant upgrade from the LCD Retina display which previous iPhone SE models featured.
That said, the report makes it clear that this will not be the same OLED displays expected to feature in the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Pro models, which are supplied by LG and Samsung.
The report claims that while the shift to an OLED display can be looked at as an upgrade for the consumer, it is actually cheaper for Apple to procure. The panels will cost Apple only $40 (roughly Rs 3,200), while the OLED panels for the regular and Pro models can go as high as $100 (roughly Rs 8,000). The cost difference will help keep the iPhone SE at the same price point, but give consumers a compelling reason to upgrade to the new model.
iPhone SE 4 May Feature Apple 5G Chip
Noted analyst Ming Chi Kuo claims the iPhone SE 4 will feature a proprietary 5G chip from Apple, apart from confirming that the smartphone will feature a 6.1-inch OLED display. Furthermore, Kuo said the iPhone SE 4 will feature thin bezels like the iPhone 14 models, indicating that the iPhone SE series will get a facelift for the first time. The notch is coming to the SE series, that means. But the Dynamic Island?
