At the CES 2018 tech show, Asus announced the pricing of its 2-in-1 laptops and the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) smartphone. This smartphone was initially spotted in Russia in the last year but its pricing remained unknown.

Now, Asus has announced that the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) will be released in the US with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space. This variant will be priced at $229 (approx. Rs. 14,500). It is claimed that the device will go on sale sometime in February and that it will be available in two color variants - Deepsea Black and Azure Silver.

 

Besides announcing the pricing of the ZenFone Max Plus (M1), Asus did reveal that the company has sold over five million units of smartphones under the ZenFone Max lineup comprising of the ZenFone Max, ZenFone 3 Max, ZenFone 4 Max and ZenFone 4 Max Pro. Now, the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) is the latest variant in the lineup.

When it comes to the specifications, the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) boasts of a 5.7-inch IPS display with a FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek MT6750T processor paired with either 2GB or 3GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB storage space. The interesting aspect is that this smartphone from Asus comes with a dedicated microSD card slot that supports expandable storage up to 256GB. Notably, Asus has announced the pricing of the base variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space.

The camera department of the Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1) includes a dual camera setup at the rear. The dual camera setup comprises of a 16MP primary snapper with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP selfie camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens. There are camera modes such as Beauty, HDR, Super Resolution, auto and more. Up front, the device flaunts an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity features that the Asus smartphone comes bundled with include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, a micro USB port, a fingerprint sensor and other standard aspects. The battery powering the Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1) is a 4130mAh unit that is touted to render 26 hours of talk time on 3G. The device comes with Asus PowerMaster feature that can increase the battery life two times.
