BOE’s New Flexible OLED Screens Power OnePlus and OPPO’s Flagship Smartphones This Fall

This October, OnePlus and OPPO are set to unveil flagship smartphones with next-generation flexible OLED screens developed in collaboration with BOE. These events reflect both brands' focus on delivering an upgraded display experience with enhanced brightness, smoother visuals, and innovative eye protection technology.

A New Era of Smartphone Displays

The OnePlus 13 will be revealed on October 15, showcasing BOE's latest screen technology. According to leaks from Digital Chat Station, the display is expected to be a 6.82-inch, 120Hz LTPO panel with 2K resolution and quad-curved design, promising seamless visuals with minimal bezels. The focus on energy efficiency and performance aligns with OnePlus's tradition of offering a high-end screen experience.

In comparison, the OPPO Find X8, scheduled to launch on October 24, will feature the same BOE display technology but with a unique emphasis on eye comfort. OPPO aims to become the first brand to secure Intelligent Eye Protection 4.0 certification from the German TÜV laboratory. This screen will introduce "lights off eye protection" technology and high-frequency PWM dimming up to 3840Hz, reducing flicker and eye strain.

What to Expect from OnePlus 13's Display

Building on the success of the OnePlus 12, the OnePlus 13 is expected to push the boundaries even further. While the OnePlus 12 featured a P1 display chip, 4500 nits peak brightness, and 510 PPI pixel density, the OnePlus 13's screen is likely to exceed these specs. The quad-curved design combined with LTPO technology promises an immersive and efficient display, well-suited for media consumption and gaming enthusiasts.

OPPO Find X8's Eye Protection Innovations

OPPO's Find X8 will introduce new ways to protect users' eyes without compromising visual quality. The display's 3840Hz PWM dimming helps minimize eye fatigue during prolonged usage. Another notable improvement is the reduction of the "black bar" width on the screen to one-sixth of the previous generation, creating a more streamlined and uninterrupted viewing experience.
