OnePlus 13 Rumors Mill: Check Expected Price, Release Date, Specifications, Design, More

The OnePlus 13 is expected to make its debut later this month in China. It will succeed last year's OnePlus 12, maintaining a similar design but getting a nice specifications bump.

We did get our hands on the OnePlus 12 (Review) and suffice to say, it is one of the best smartphones in the segment, offering top-tier specifications, including powerful performance, superb battery life, a versatile set of cameras, super-fast charging support, an excellent display, and good software support.

We rated the OnePlus 12 a solid 4 out of 5. Considering how touch the competition in the flagship segment has gotten in the past year, it will be interesting to see how many upgrades the brand makes to the upcoming OnePlus 13.

OnePlus 13 Launch Details

The OnePlus 13 launch date is taking place on October 31, 2024. The OnePlus 13 will be unveiled in China first, before a global release, at 04:00 pm local time or 01:30 pm IST.

The OnePlus 13 global and Indian launch could take place sometime in Q1, 2025, possibly January or early February 2025. To recall, the OnePlus 12 made its debut in China in December 2023, while the international debut came in January 2024.

OnePlus 13 Specifications (Expected)

The OnePlus 13 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, which reports suggests will be called the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The chip will be paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The is confrimed to pack a 6,000 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support. According to OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu, the phone will also support magnetic wireless charging.

The OnePlus 13 will likely sport a 6.82-inch 2K 10-bit LTPO OLED display by BOE. It will be called the X2 micro quad curved OLED display and will feature an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is touted to feature a DisplayMate A++ rating, which will make it one of the best in the business.

The OnePlus 13 will run Android 15 out of the box with the latest version of ColorOS 15 (China) and Oxygen 15 (International) on top. OnePlus recently rolled out the open beta update for OxygenOS 15 to the OnePlus 12 and 12R in India.

OnePlus recently confirmed the cameras on its upcoming flagship. The OnePlus 13 will feature a triple-camera setup co-tuned by Hasselblad. The phone is expected to use a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor with OIS support.

The main camera will be paired with a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultrawide lens and a 50MP Sony LYT-600 telephoto-periscope shooter with OIS, an f/2.6 aperture, and 3x optical zoom. Up front, the OnePlus 13 is expected to use a 32MP selfie camera.

OnePlus 13 Design, Build (Expected)

The OnePlus 13 will also get an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water. This is a big upgrade from the IP65 rating on the OnePlus 12. The OnePlus 13 is expected to feature Gorilla Glass protection the back and front, while the frame will be made of metal.

The OnePlus 13 could retain the same design as its predecessor. According to reports, the placement of the camera array might be slightly different from the OnePlus 12. In an official Snapdragon 8 Elite teaser, we can see what appears to be the outline of the OnePlus 13's back panel.

OnePlus 13 Price (Expected)

We expect the OnePlus 13 price in India to start from under Rs 70,000. We also believe that the base configuration of the OnePlus 13 will come with 256GB of storage. In China, the OnePlus 13's price could start from CNY 4,499 (roughly Rs 53,150), which is a CNY 400 increase compared to the OnePlus 12.. In the US, the OnePlus 13's price could likely fall between $700 to $1000, depending on the model.
