OnePlus 13 New Leak: Could Be the First to Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip

Earlier rumours suggested Qualcomm's next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite chip will first launch on the Xiaomi 15, now it seems the OnePlus 13 could be the first to ship with the new Snapdragon chip.

Qualcomm has posted a teaser video on its official Weibo account, suggesting the new processor will come with the next-gen OnePlus phone. The video doesn't reveal anything about the chipset, except that it will come with Oryon CPU cores.

Even though it doesn't mention the name of the OnePlus phone, the teaser shows the smartphone with a circular camera island placed in the top-left corner of the rear panel, revealing it's none other than the upcoming OnePlus 13.

OnePlus 13 Processor Revealed

While OnePlus has yet to confirm the processor officially, rumours and leaks already suggested it will be powered by Qualcomm's next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite (initially named the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4) which is expected to be paired with 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and with up to 1TB of onboard storage.

In the meantime, OnePlus has confirmed the presence of BOE's second-gen Oriental Screen and support for magnetic wireless charging on the upcoming flagship. We expect the brand might reveal the processor details soon. Check our previous article to learn more about the OnePlus 13.

As of now, the exact launch date for both the OnePlus 13 and Qualcomm's next-gen are still under wraps; however, it's believed to take place this month.

Upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Phones

In addition to the OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15, the Snapdragon 8 Elite is also expected to run the iQOO 13, Honor Magic 7 series, and Realme GT 7 Pro. All of these models are yet to get the official launch date.

The upcoming processor was initially expected to be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which might be built on TSMC's 3nm process and feature two performance cores at 4.0GHz and six efficiency cores at 2.8GHz.
