Galaxy Z Flip 5: Leaked Design Renders Show Clamshell Style Phone

A report published in MySmartPrice , which has since been taken down, revealed the official press renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, a much-awaited foldable smartphone. The leaked renders give away quite a bit about the design and built of the phone.

Samsung is likely to reveal more about its newest range of foldable phones in the event Samsung Galaxy Unpacked. Although the company hasn't officially said anything on the date of the event, rumours suggest that the Seoul Unpacked event will be held on July 26. Post this event, the US and Canada launch event is rumoured to be scheduled for August 11. Let's take a closer look at the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Galaxy Z Flip 5: Design Details

According to the leaked official render, some big changes on the outside of the phone are evident.

One of the most noticeable things is that the clamshell-style foldable phone is slated to have a big display on the outside. This display covers almost the entire rear side, when the phone is in its folded state.

Point to note is that so far, all the phones in the Z Flip series have come with a 1.9-inch display. However, that is surely set to change with the Z Flip 5, if the renders are to be believed. According to rumours, this display size will be 3.4-inches.

An arching display accommodates the dual camera setup in the phone. There's an LED flash in this area too, beside the cameras. The two cameras are placed horizontally, next to each other.

From the leaked renders, the use cases that are evident show that this display can be used as a viewfinder to click high-quality images as well as to control music.

Galaxy Z Flip 5: Leaked Specifications

Apart from the design, several rumours are also doing the rounds about the specifications of the phone.

The phone is expected to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for Galaxy.

It will also feature a 3700mAh battery with 15W or 25W fast charging.

The rear cameras include a 12MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera. Additionally, it is expected to have a 12MP selfie camera.
