Gionee P5W with 5 inch HD display, Android Lollipop 5.1 now official

    Gionee today launched their latest budget phone dubbed the P5W in India. The budget smartphone runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 and comes in a range of colourful polycarbonate shells - black, yellow, pink, blue and white.

    The Gionee P5W sports a 5 inch HD (720x1280p) IPS OnCell display upfront along with a 2MP front facing camera. The OnCell display technology will allow the smartphone to render accurate colours even at extreme angles.

    Under the hood of the Gionee P5W is a 64bit 1.3GHz quad core Mediatek 6735 SoC coupled with Mali T720 GPU. Besides that the budget smartphone comes with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and a slot for memory expansion via MicroSD card. The Dual SIM handset comes with the common set of connectivity features including WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and 3G.

    The Gionee P5W features a 5MP camera equipped with a LED flash on the back. Gionee further claims that their smartphone comes with DTS sound quality. The smartphone is powered by a 2000mAh battery and measures at 143.3x72x8.9mm.

    The Gionee P5W comes in a range colours including White, Blue, Red, Yellow and Black colors and will soon go on sale. It worth mentioning that the price of the Gionee P5W isn't known as of yet. However going by the Zauba import listing of the smartphone we can assume Gionee to price is somewhere between Rs 6,499-Rs 6,999.
