Google mocks the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max in new Advertisement

Google is gearing up to launch the next generation of flagship smartphone next week. The Google Pixel 8 series is launching in India and globally on October 4.

However, ahead of its launch Google has been gradually teasing details about the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro under its series of video ads titled "#BestPhonesForever". And the most recent video takes a dig at Apple's latest iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Google Mocks Apple

The video shows the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max alongside the Google Pixel 7 Pro. The ad shows the Pixel 7 Pro mocking the new iPhone, suggesting that it has only got "a different mute button, a dynamic-er island, and a new charging port".

The ad then proceeds to show the iPhone model nervous about the prospect of the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro as the latter will be more innovative and get the "best AI". However, Google don't go into any specifics as to what that means.

The ad also shows the iPhone model nervous about the Pixel 8 Pro's "eye-catching design" and the attention it will garner. While the ad does end on a lighter note showing the two devices as best friends, it is meant to portray the rivalry between two tech giants.

Reality Check

However, in reality, Apple's grip on the premium smartphone segment appears to be ironclad at the moment. Even Samsung, the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, appears to be playing catch up to Apple when it comes to the premium smartphone segment.

And Apple has only cemented its dominance with the recent launch of the iPhone 15 series. But it will be interesting to see how Google's Pixel 8 series will take on the iPhone 15 series when the former arrives next week.

Early reports have already been flooding in about the iPhone 15 Pro models' overheating. However, the Tensor G2 chip on the Pixel 7 series was no stranger to overheating, so it will be interesting to see how what improvements Google makes to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro to lure customers away from Apple.
