Google Pixel 7a full specifications leaked: Marketing material suggest major camera overhaul

The Google Pixel 7a release date is set for next week. The Pixel 7a will arrive at Google I/O 2023, which kicks off on May 10. And while few details about the device have been revealed, the Pixel 7a specifications were recently leaked in their entirety.

The most recent leak comes courtesy of Roland Quandt, who has leaked marketing material for the Pixel 7a. Additionally, the Pixel 7a was also spotted on Geekbench 6, confirming flagship-grade performance with a single-core score of 1380 points and a multi-core score of 3071 points.

The Google Pixel 7a launch date is set for May 10 globally. Additionally, the Google Pixel 7a launch date in India will take place on May 11. The Pixel 7a will be available for pre-order in India through Flipkart, according to an official teaser by Google India.

According to Quandt's leaks, the Pixel 7a will be powered by the Tensor G2 SoC, which first debuted on the flagship Pixel 7 series back in October 2022. The chip will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, according to the Geekbench listing. It will also run stock Android 13 out of the box.

The marketing material also confirms that the Pixel 7a will feature a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to pack a 4,400 mAh battery with both wired and wireless fast charging support. The phone will also feature some sort of IP rating for water resistance.

For optics, the Google Pixel 7a will feature a dual-camera setup on the back with a 64 MP primary sensor, which is an upgrade over the 12 MP sensor for the Pixel 6a. Moreover, the main camera will be paired with a new 13 MP ultrawide camera.

Up front, the Pixel 7a will get a new 13 MP selfie camera. The camera system will also feature an improved Super Res Zoom, Night Sight with low-light portraits and starry skies, and photo unblur. The camera hardware suggests a major upgrade over the Pixel 6a.

The Google Pixel 7a price is expected to cost $499 (roughly 40,800) in the US. However, given the recent price cuts for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, we expect the Google Pixel 7a price in India to fall under the 40K mark.

This also suggests a price hike for the Google Pixel 7a in India over last year's Pixel 6a. The Google Pixel 7a will be available for purchase in India through Flipkart, with pre-orders expected to begin on May 11.
