Prolific tipster Ice universe claims that the Google Pixel 8 Pro's main camera will feature a Samsung ISOCELL GN2 camera sensor. That's a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the Pixel 7 Pro, which features a Samsung ISOCELL GN1 camera sensor.
The 1/1.12-inch sensor has a resolution of 50MP and is said to capture clearer photos even in low-light conditions. Additionally, the sensor can click photos with a high dynamic range, thanks to its staggered-HDR technology.
The ISOCELL GN2 sensor is also capable of recording 8K videos at 30fps and 4K videos at 120fps. The sensor records Full HD videos in 480fps for cinematic-looking and slow-motion videos.
