Google Pixel 8 Series Lauch Event starts at 07:30 pm in India today: What to Expect?

The Google Pixel 8 series is launching in India and globally later today. The line-up will include the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Additionally, the Pixel Watch 2 is also arriving alongside the Pixel 8 series. Moreover, Google will also release Android 14 at today's event.

The Made by Google event will take place later today at 07:30 pm (IST). Google has already teased the design of the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2 ahead of the launch event. Moreover, several rumours and leaks have already given us an in-depth look at the Pixel 8 series.

Google Pixel 8 Series, Pixel Watch 2 Expected Pricing

According to past leaks, the Google Pixel 8 price in the US will start from $699 (roughly Rs 58,100). The Google Pixel 8 Pro price is expected to start from $899 (roughly Rs 74,700). If the reports are accurate, then the Google Pixel 8 will cost $100 more than the Pixel 7, while the Pixel 8 Pro will feature the same price tag as its predecessor.

We expect the Google Pixel 8 price in India to fall anywhere between Rs 60,000 and Rs 70,000, while the Pixel 8 Pro price in India could start from upwards of Rs 85,000 in the country. The Pixel Watch 2 price is expected to start from £349 (roughly Rs 35,100) in Europe.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Specifications

The Google Pixel 8 Pro will be powered by the Tensor G3 SoC with the Titan M2 security chip. The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to come with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage in the US. The rest of the world will get a maximum of 512GB storage. The handset will run stock Android 14.

The Google Pixel 8 Pro will opt for a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS, a new 48 MP ultrawide unit, and 48 MP telephoto camera with 30x Super Res Zoom and OIS. Up front, the phone will get a 10.5 MP selfie camera. The Pixel 8 Pro will support Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

The Google Pixel 8 Pro is expected to sport a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED display with a peak brightness of 2,400 nits. Additionally, the screen will feature an adaptive refresh rate (1Hz - 120Hz). Moreover, the Pixel 8 Pro will pack a 5,050 mAh battery with 30W wired fast charging and 23W wireless fast charging support. It will also feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Google Pixel Watch 2 Specifications

The Google Pixel Watch 2 could use a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 series chipset, either the Snapdragon W5 or Snapdragon W5+. The chip will be further paired with 2GB of RAM and will house a 306 mAh battery. The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to offer over 24 hours of battery life with the always-on display (AOD) feature turned-on.

The Pixel Watch 2 is also expected to sport a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 383×384 pixels. The Google Pixel Watch 2 will run on WearOS 4, which also happens to be the operating system for the Galaxy Watch 6 series.
