Late in March, the rumors and leaks regarding an upcoming smartphone dubbed Honor 10 started hitting the rumor mills. Following the same, a leaked media invite suggested that this smartphone with an AI camera might be unveiled at an event in London on May 15. A few days back, more details about the Honor smartphone have surfaced online in the form of a promotional image and also shed light on some of its specifications.
The fresh information regarding the Honor 10 is that the Honor 10 featuring dual rear cameras with AI support could be introduced at an event to be held in Shanghai, China on April 19. Also, the leaked press invite for the Chinese announcement of the smartphone on Weibo tips that Chinese actors Zhao Liying and Hu Ge have been roped in as brand ambassadors. They are also seen in the image spotted on Weibo as seen above.
The major highlight of the Honor 10 appears to be the new Twilight color variant, which we saw during the Huawei P20 announcement. The previous banner, which was leaked in the last week also showed the glossy Twilight 3D back panel.
Noticeably, the Honor 10 might not feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as one of the early leaks suggested that there could be a front-facing fingerprint sensor. The image also hints at the presence of a dual-camera setup at its rear and a selfie-focused camera with AI capabilities. In the previous invite for May 15 launch, the smartphone was teased to arrive with an AI camera.
In addition to this, another leaked image on Weibo shows a promotional material in a store revealing the key specs of the Honor 10. According to the image shown above, the Honor 10 might arrive with a 5.8-inch FullView display with thin bezels. The device is likely to make use of Huawei's Kirin 970 SoC as the flagship smartphone P20, which was announced recently. This processor is believed to be teamed up with 6GB RAM and a whopping internal storage capacity of 256GB.
Given that the Honor 10 could be announced in China on April 19, we can expect the May 15 launch event to be meant for the international launch of the device. The company did the same with the Honor 7X and Honor View 10 smartphones too.
