Huawei P60 Series to Make Global Debut on May 9: Here’s What to Expect

The Huawei P60 series of smartphones will be unveiled globally next week on May 9, following its debut in China. The brand also promised a look at other flagship products.

Although Huawei didn't mention the specifics, we can expect the company to showcase the Huawei Mate X3, the Huawei FreeBuds 5, and the Huawei Watch Ultimate at the global launch event.

Huawei P60 Series Features

The Huawei P60 series which launched in China comprises the Huawei P60, P60 Pro, and P60 Art smartphones. All three devices sport a 6.67-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen has an HD+ resolution of 2,700 x 1,220 pixels.

Additionally, the display has a layer of Kunlun glass for protection. There's a hole-punt notch at the top for the selfie camera. The P60 series is said to support 1.07 billion colors.

As for the design, the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro appear similar with a glossy back. Meanwhile, the P60 Art is more design-forward, sporting a stylized camera island and a wavy design at the rear. All three phones have the same size, measuring 161 x 74.5 x 8.3mm.

Moving on to imaging, the Huawei P60 series features a triple-camera setup at the rear. It comprises a 48MP main camera with OIS and variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0.

As for the secondary rear-camera sensors, both the P60 Pro and P60 Art come with a 48MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the vanilla P60's telephoto sensor isn't as impressive, featuring a resolution of 12MP.

Both the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro are equipped with a 13MP ultra-wide lens, while the P60 Art comes with a larger 40MP ultra-wide sensor. At the front, all three phones feature a 13MP selfie camera.

The Huawei P60 series features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor. As for the operating system, the smartphone will ship with Harmony OS 3.1. All three phones are IP68-rated for water and dust resistance.

While the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro are powered by a 4,815mAh battery, the P60 Art features a 5,100mAh silicon-carbon battery. All three smartphones come with support for 50W wireless charging. The P60 supports 66W wired charging, while the P60 Pro supports 88W wired charging.
