iQOO 15 Officially Teased Ahead of Launch: Check Expected Specs, Features, and Launch Timeline
After weeks of speculation, iQOO has confirmed the name of its next flagship—it’s the iQOO 15. This announcement clears up confusion over whether the phone would be called iQOO 14. The brand revealed the name through a promotional poster tied to the 2025 ChinaJoy expo.
So, why the skip? Like many Chinese tech companies, iQOO avoids the number “4” due to cultural associations with bad luck. The company has done this before, jumping from iQOO 3 straight to iQOO 5.

No Phone on Display, But the Hype Has Started
Even though the iQOO 15 wasn’t physically shown at ChinaJoy, the brand used the event to kick off its promotions. iQOO launched a social media campaign to recruit “experience officers,” who will receive the phone once it officially debuts.

The company also hosted a 5v5 "Honor of Kings" tournament at its booth on August 1. Eight teams were chosen on-site, with the winners promised a free iQOO 15—again, to be delivered after launch.
What to Expect from the iQOO 15 Series
Leaks suggest there will be two models: the iQOO 15 and the iQOO 15 Ultra. Both are expected to come with high-end specs:
- 6.85-inch 2K LTPO OLED display
- Snapdragon 8 Elite 2
- Triple 50MP rear cameras with a 3x periscope lens
The Ultra model may add extras like:
- Gaming triggers
- Built-in cooling fan
- Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
- Over 7,000mAh battery
- Wireless charging
iQOO is clearly leaning into its performance and gaming DNA with this one.
Launch Timeline
The iQOO 15 series is expected to launch in October in China, similar to last year’s iQOO 13. With early marketing already underway, an official reveal could happen sooner than usual.
