LG G7 ThinQ leaked render confirms full-screen display, iPhone X-like notch
LG G7 ThinQ will be unveiled on May 2 at an event in New York.
LG G7 ThinQ, the upcoming flagship is scheduled to launch on May 2 at an event in New York. It has already appeared in quite a few leaks, with press renders of the smartphone coming up earlier this month. Evan Blass has now posted a new image of the G7 ThinQ, which gives us a better look at the device. The image seems to be a part of the promo material that LG will use after the phone's launch.
The new leak confirms that the LG G7 ThinQ will sport an edge-to-edge display with a notch akin to the iPhone X. The display is slightly curved at the corners, probably for a better hand grip. Unlike the recent flagships, the smartphone has a power button on the right side. The G7 ThinQ doesn't have a physical home button since the bottom bezel is really narrow.
While we can't see from this image, the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the phone's rear panel. The leaked press render of the G7 ThinQ has suggested the smartphone will feature a vertically stacked dual rear camera setup.
According to a recent report, the notch on the LG G7 ThinQ will be optional. In other words, users will be able to hide the notch by blacking out the pixels to its left and right.
In terms of specifications, the G7 ThinQ is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. However, we expect the smartphone to have another variant with more storage.
The smartphone's dual rear camera setup will reportedly make use of two 16-megapixel sensors. One will be equipped with an RGB lens with an aperture size of f/1.6, another will be equipped with a 107-degree wide-angle lens.
Like LG's V30S ThinQ phone, the camera on G7 ThinQ will also have AI capabilities. The camera will be able to analyze subjects in the frame and recommend the optimal shooting mode among various categories. Additionally, LG is also said to introduce a feature called "SuperPixel" for capturing better images in low-light conditions.
LG's upcoming flagship will available in several color variants such as Raspberry Rose, Moroccan Blue, Moroccan Blue (Matte), Platinum Grey, and Aurora Black.
