LG V40 codenamed as Storm; V35 ThinQ arriving in late summer
Many LG smartphones in pipeline.
LG G7 ThinQ is all set to get unveiled on May 2, but rumors centering two other LG smartphones have already started coming up. Serial leakster Evan Blass took to Twitter to announce that LG V40, the next flagship in the V-series, is codenamed as Storm. He further revealed that the smartphone will be launched sometime in late summer or early fall.
Looking at the company's past launching patterns, the LG V40 is expected to get unveiled at IFA 2018. Besides this, Blass said that the LG V35 ThinQ (codenamed as Emma) will be arriving after the launch of G7 ThinQ. While we have no information about the V40, V35 ThinQ's specs sheet was leaked last week.
The LG V35 ThinQ will reportedly sport a 6-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display that is also present in the LG V30S ThinQ. The display will have an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 80 percent. Notably, the V35 ThinQ will not have an iPhone X-like notch that is expected on the G7 ThinQ.
citing an anonymous source and an in-house LG documentation, the report said, the LG V35 ThinQ will flaunt "an edge-to-edge design crafted to fit in the palm of your hand." It is said that the smartphone will come in Black and Gray color variants with a "premium glossy finish."
On the photography front, the V35 ThinQ is likely to feature a dual rear camera setup with two 16MP sensors. The primary sensor will come equipped with a glass lens with f/1.6 aperture and 10-bit HDR compatibility. Whereas the secondary sensor will have a wide-angle with a field-of-view of 107-degree.
The V35 ThinQ will also come with 'AI Cam' and Google Lens support. Besides this, we can expect features like Super Bright mode and 'superpixels'. Finally, the smartphone will boast of a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC utilizing an ESS Sabre 9228. With all these features in tow, the LG V35 ThinQ will be marketed as a super-smart device.
It remains to be seen if LG will announce the G7 ThinQ and V35 ThinQ at the same time. However, chances of happening so are lean.
