MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro Launch Set for September 15: 2nm Chipset, AI Gaming, 4K 120fps Video Confirmed
MediaTek has announced the launch date of its upcoming flagship smartphone processor, the Dimensity 9600 Pro. The new chipset will debut on September 15 and is claimed to be the company's first Pro-grade processor built using a cutting-edge 2nm manufacturing process.
Ahead of the launch, MediaTek has teased several features of the Dimensity 9600 Pro, including improvements to performance, power efficiency, AI-powered gaming graphics, ray tracing, and camera capabilities. The upcoming chip is expected to compete with Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series.

MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro Launch Date Confirmed
MediaTek has confirmed that it will unveil the Dimensity 9600 Pro at a conference in China on September 15 at 2:30 PM local time or 12 pm (IST).
The company claims that the Dimensity 9600 Pro will be its first Pro-grade chipset manufactured using the 2nm process. MediaTek says the new processor will deliver improved performance and power efficiency through deep co-development using Design Technology Co-optimisation (DTCO).
According to the company, the technology helps improve chip performance and scaling while also enhancing manufacturing efficiency and yields.
Dimensity 9600 Pro Gaming and Camera Features
Gaming appears to be another major focus for the Dimensity 9600 Pro. MediaTek has teased deeply integrated AI GPU graphics rendering technology, along with upgrades to its Star Speed Engine.
The chipset is also expected to offer improved ray tracing capabilities for more realistic lighting and visual effects in supported mobile games.
On the camera front, MediaTek has confirmed support for 4K video recording at 120fps. The chipset is also tipped to bring enhanced slow-motion video capabilities.
Dimensity 9600 Pro Specifications Tipped
Recent reports suggest that the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro could feature an ARMv8 octa-core architecture with three CPU clusters. It is said to include two Canyon cores clocked at 4.55GHz, three Gelas-B cores running at 4.35GHz, and three Gelas cores clocked at 3.10GHz.
The chipset could be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and feature a Mali-G2-Ultra-NX MC12 GPU for graphics.
A Geekbench listing reportedly showed the chipset scoring 4,137 points in the single-core test and 12,751 points in the multi-core test. The benchmark was spotted on an alleged global variant of the upcoming Vivo X500 Pro Max.
Meanwhile, reports also suggest that the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max could feature the same Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. More details about MediaTek's first 2nm Pro-grade processor should be revealed when it officially launches on September 15.
