Meizu smartphone codenamed Ocean to feature bezel-less design; 2018 launch likely
Meizu to be working on a full-screen display phone.
It looks like the entire smartphone industry is crazy about launching smartphones with minimal or absolutely no bezels. While many brands have already launched such devices, the next one seems to be Meizu.

Going by the recent reports, it looks like Meizu is prepping a bezel-less smartphone that is likely codenamed Ocean. According to a Weibo post that was spotted by GizmoChina, the Meizu Ocean will be released under the label Blue Charm. Eventually, it is tipped to be priced in the mid-range market segment. The post on the micro-blogging site further reveals that the device will feature a full-screen display and make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The report speculates that the Qualcomm processor could be the Snapdragon 625 SoC and not the Snapdragon 835 or Snapdragon 821 those are meant to be used on high-end smartphones.
Notably, the alleged Meizu Ocean is not the first smartphone to sport a full-screen display. The recent launch of the brand, the Meizu Pro 7 was speculated to arrive with a full-screen display and minimal bezels at the sides though the same did not come to fruition. The Meizu Pro 7 does have thin bezels around the display's sides, but the top and bottom have thick bezels. Also, the highlight of the smartphone is its rear-facing secondary display to display notifications and other functionalities.
As of now, there is no word on when the alleged Meizu Ocean with a bezel-less design will be unveiled. However, it is believed that the same will see the light of the day sometime in the first half of 2018. Lately, the Meizu President, Jack Wong confirmed that the company will not release any smartphone with a full-screen display tipping that we cannot expect the launch of the device codenamed Ocean to be launched this year.
