Moto Z3 Play FCC listing reveals key specs

We already know that Motorola is prepping to unveil the next-generation G series and E series smartphones. In addition to these models, it looks like the company is also working on a Moto Z series phone while the Moto X5 stands canceled. Recently, Motorola teased its upcoming smartphones and one of them was the Moto Z3 Play. Many of these smartphones will be unveiled in the second quarter.

Yesterday, we came across a report revealing the case renders of the Moto Z3 Play confirming the existence of the smartphone. Now, the smartphone has been spotted at the FCC certification database with the model number XT-1929, claims NashvilleChatterClass. This FCC listing reveals some of the specifications such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC and 4GB RAM.

The Moto Z3 Play is believed to arrive with a large 6.1-inch display though the resolution appears to be unknown for now. At its rear, the upcoming Motorola smartphone could feature a dual-camera module with 12MP and 8MP sensors. The leaked case renders showed a familiar design with the dual camera sensors placed in a circular enclosure along with the LED flash unit. Up front, the smartphone is believed to feature a 5MP selfie camera.

The successor to the Moto Z2 Play is likely to be powered by a 3000mAh battery or a more capacious one. Also, the smartphone is believed to be unveiled in two variants - one with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage space and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. And, both the variants of the Z3 Play would run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Moto Z2 Force Unboxing and First Impressions

Previous leaks have tipped that the Moto Z3 Play could feature an aluminum build and that there will be slim bezels leaving no space for the fingerprint sensor at the front. The fingerprint sensor will be positioned at the right of the device, suggest reports. The smartphone will feature a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port as well. Also, belonging to the Z series smartphones from the company, it will have connector pins to snap on the Moto Mods as well. And, these pins seem to have got a redesign this time.
