Motorola Edge 40 India Price Revealed: Android Phone With 144Hz 6.55-inch OLED Screen And Dimensity 8020 SoC

Motorola will soon launch the Motorola Edge 40 in India. The smartphone features a 144Hz OLED display and packs 5G-enabled MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC, 8GB RAM, and a lot more.

The Motorola Edge series is about to welcome the Motorola Edge 40. It will be the first smartphone in the company's latest flagship series to debut in India. The upcoming Motorola smartphone's sale date and price have been leaked, presumably by accident.

Motorola Edge 40 India Launch Date And Price Leaks Via Flipkart Banner

According to a screenshot of the Flipkart banner shared by a Twitter user, the Moto Edge 40 will have an effective price of ₹27,999. The price is inclusive of all offers and valid only for pre-order customers.

Simply put, the Motorola Edge 40 will be available for ₹27,999 for a limited number of customers who pre-order the smartphone via Flipkart. The price should increase substantially on the actual launch date or when the phone will be available via open sale.

Speaking of availability, the Motorola Edge 40 will be available for pre-order starting from May 23, 2023. The advertisement banner on Flipkart indicated that customers who buy the Motorola smartphone will get ₹2,000 off as an Exchange bonus.

There is also an option to bundle a screen replacement package for ₹9,500. It is not clear if pre-orders will include this package for free or at a discounted price.

Motorola Edge 40 India Specifications, Features

The Motorola Edge 40 will sell primarily on Flipkart in India. Motorola could offer the smartphone via its Indian e-shop as well.

The microsite for the Motorola Edge 40 and the promo banner on Flipkart confirm the India variant will launch with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Motorola has highlighted the key specifications and features of the India variant of the smartphone on Flipkart.

The Motorola Edge 40 features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ OLED display with curved edges. The 1080p display has a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a peak brightness of 1200 nits.

Motorola has embedded the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC inside the Motorola Edge 40, which is a capable, 5G-enabled chipset. As mentioned above, the smartphone will have 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The Motorola Edge 40 has a dual-camera setup on the back, comprising a 50MP primary camera with support for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.4 aperture. There's a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera on the back that can also shoot macro images. The Motorola smartphone features a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies, video calls, and face unlock. It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The promotional banner claims the Motorola Edge 40 is the slimmest 5G smartphone worldwide. Its international variant that launched this month packs a 4400mAh battery with support for 68W TurboPower wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

Motorola has secured an IP68 rating for the Motorola Edge 40, which makes it resistant to water splashes and dust. The smartphone boots Android 13-based MyUX 5.

The Motorola Edge 40 will arrive in India in three color options and two finishes. The model with a vegan leather back will be available in Nebula Green and Eclipse Black. The Lunar Blue color option will be available in a PMMA Acrylic finish.
