Motorola Signature 27 with Major Camera and Audio Upgrades Arriving at Today's Snapdragon Summit

Motorola is preparing to unveil its next premium smartphone, the Motorola Signature 27, at the Snapdragon Summit later today. Ahead of the showcase, the company has teased the phone's distinctive rear camera design and announced a global audio partnership with Bang & Olufsen.

The Signature 27 appears to be positioned as a major upgrade over the existing Motorola Signature, with cameras, audio and premium design at the centre of its appeal.

Motorola Signature 27 Camera Design and Audio

Motorola's teaser shows a large, asymmetric camera island covering a significant portion of the rear panel. The design is notably different from the conventional square and vertically stacked camera modules used by many flagship smartphones.

Motorola has not yet revealed the camera sensors or their resolutions, but the prominent camera module suggests that imaging will be one of the phone's key focus areas. The company is also yet to confirm the chipset, complete specifications, India launch timeline or price.

The Signature 27 will also introduce "Audio by Bang & Olufsen" branding to Motorola's premium portfolio. The partnership could bring improvements to speaker tuning, media playback and call quality, although Motorola has not detailed the specific audio hardware or features coming to the phone.

Motorola Signature 27 vs Motorola Signature

The upcoming phone will succeed the Motorola Signature, which launched in India in January in Pantone Martini Olive and Pantone Carbon colour options. The existing model starts at Rs. 59,999 in India.

The Motorola Signature features a 6.8-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and offers up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

For photography, the phone has a 50-megapixel triple-rear-camera setup and a 50-megapixel selfie camera. It can also record 8K Dolby Vision video at 30fps. Despite its slim profile, the Signature packs a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 90W wired and 10W wireless charging.

Motorola Signature 27 Price: What to Expect

While Motorola has not announced the Signature 27's price, it is likely to be significantly more expensive than the current Signature, which starts at Rs. 59,999. The new model's flagship positioning, upgraded camera system and Bang & Olufsen audio partnership could push it into a considerably higher price segment.

Motorola is expected to reveal more details at the September 22 Snapdragon Summit showcase, including the chipset, camera specifications, pricing and availability.
