Snapdragon Summit 2026 Dates Confirmed: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Gen 6 Pro Expected

Qualcomm has confirmed the dates for its ninth annual Snapdragon Summit. The event runs from September 22 to 24, 2026, once again in Maui, Hawaii, where the company has held the summit for the past several years.

This is the venue where Qualcomm typically unveils its next flagship mobile chip, and this year should be no different.

Snapdragon Summit 2026 Dates Confirmed for September 22 to 24

What's Expected at the Event

The headline announcement is widely expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, built on a 2nm process. This would mark Qualcomm's move to the more advanced node, following Samsung's own shift to 2nm with the Exynos 2600.

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, there are two variants in the works. The standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, internally referred to as SM8950, is reportedly being tested with LPDDR5X memory support. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, internally SM8975, is said to support the newer LPDDR6 memory standard along with UFS 5.0 storage, a notable jump from current UFS generations.

On the architecture side, the Pro variant is tipped to use a 2+3+3 next-gen Oryon CPU configuration with a shared 16MB L2 cache and an A850 GPU featuring 18MB of GMEM. The standard Gen 6 chip is expected to use a similar CPU layout but pairs it with an A845 GPU at 12MB GMEM, a step down from the Pro in graphics memory.

Why the Timing Matters

Phones powered by the new Snapdragon chip are expected to start arriving by the end of September, with the Xiaomi 18 series tipped as one of the first to launch on the new silicon. That timing puts it in direct competition with Apple's iPhone 18 Pro lineup, which is rumoured for an early September launch. Having a flagship Android chip ready to go just weeks after Apple's event is a familiar pattern for Qualcomm, and this year looks no different.

Component cost concerns have already been a talking point heading into this year's chip launches, so it'll be worth watching how Qualcomm and its device partners price phones running the Gen 6 chips once they arrive.

None of the chip specifications are officially confirmed yet. Qualcomm typically saves the full reveal, along with detailed benchmarks and partner announcements, for the summit itself.
