New Leak Suggests the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro Isn’t Happening After All

For months, rumors have been all over the place about Samsung’s next flagship series. Some claimed the company was planning to shake up its naming convention with a new Galaxy S26 Pro. Others insisted a Galaxy S26 Edge would replace the Plus model. But as it turns out, neither might be happening.

New Leak Suggests the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro Isn’t Happening After All

No Galaxy S26 Pro After All

According to a new report from SamMobile, Samsung has decided against using the “Pro” branding for the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup. Instead, the company is expected to stick with the familiar trio — Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra. That means the “Edge” series, which briefly resurfaced with the S25 Edge earlier this year, is being phased out again.

Industry insiders say the Galaxy S26 Edge’s development was nearly complete before Samsung apparently pulled the plug. The decision reportedly stems from low demand for the S25 Edge, which struggled to make an impact in sales charts. That doesn’t necessarily mean the model is gone for good — it could still appear later as a standalone release.

Familiar Cameras, New Battery Upgrade

Firmware hints from the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s One UI 8.5 build suggest that the Galaxy S26 won’t be bringing major camera hardware changes. The setup is expected to remain the same: a 50MP primary camera, 10MP telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide. That’s the same triple-camera system seen on the Galaxy S25.

The real upgrade could come from the battery. Reports suggest the Galaxy S26 might pack a 4,300mAh cell, up from the 4,000mAh unit in last year’s model. That’s a decent improvement, especially if Samsung manages to keep the phone thinner — leaked renders point to a 6.96mm profile compared to 7.2mm on the S25.

Exynos Makes a Comeback

After a brief all-Snapdragon lineup for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung’s in-house Exynos chips are reportedly returning for the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus in several regions. The Exynos 2600 is said to be the driving force behind both models, while the Ultra variant could continue to rely on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon SoC in select markets.
