Nokia 1 launched in India for Rs. 5,499; goes on sale from March 28

Nokia 1 comes to the Indian market with an affordable pricing of Rs. 5,499. The Jio cashback offer takes the effective pricing down to Rs. 3,299.

Last month, at the MWC 2018, we had witnessed the announcement of several Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphones from different manufacturers. Following the same, the Lava Z50 was launched in India and carries the credit of being the first such Android Go device to arrive in India. Now, the Nokia 1 has been launched in the country.

The Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone was initially unveiled at the MWC 2018 tech show in Barcelona in the last month. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 5,499 in the country and comes with 4G LTE connectivity as well. Being an Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone, the device comes pre-loaded with the Go Edition apps aimed at rendering a smooth experience on the low-end devices.

Nokia 1 specifications

On the specifications front, the Nokia 1 arrives with a 4.5-inch FWVGA iPS display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The smartphone is equipped with a 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor paired with Adreno 304 GPU, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage capacity. There is a microSD card slot supporting up to 128GB of expandable storage.

The dual SIM smartphone from HMD's stable flaunts a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and fixed focus and a 2MP selfie camera. The connectivity aspects include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and LTE. The Nokia 1 gets the power from a 2150mAh battery.

The Nokia 1 will go on sale from March 28 along with several launch offers. There is Rs. 2,200 cash back from Reliance Jio, which will take the effective pricing of Nokia 1 to Rs. 3,299. Jio also offers 60GB additional 4G data to the users. There is 12-month free Servify accidental damage insurance on opening a Kotak 811 savings account and activating the same with Rs. 1,000 initial deposit during the introductory period. Also, there is 20% discount on booking the first ride via redBus.

Xpress on covers for Rs. 450

The Nokia 1 comes with Xpress On interchangeable polycarbonate covers, taking us back to the old days when we used to change the covers of the Nokia phones as per a color of our choice. The Xpress On covers are available in packs of Yellow and Pink or Azure and Grey and will be available for purchase separately for Rs. 450.
