Nokia Smartphone With Waterfall Display, Penta-Lens Camera Likely On Cards
HMD Global is launching smartphones in almost all categories. Earlier this year, it launched the flagship Nokia 9 PureView with five cameras at the rear. Now, it looks like the company is in plans to launch a new smartphone with a waterfall display similar to the recently launched Vivo NEX 3 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
Well, as per the leaked information circulating on Chinese social media sites, the upcoming Nokia smartphone with a waterfall display gives a screen-to-body ratio of 100%. Also, it is touted to arrive with a penta-lens camera system at its rear, making us believe that it will be the successor to the Nokia 9 PureView.
Nokia Smartphone With Waterfall Display
HMD Global, which launches Nokia smartphones has been largely conservative when it comes to the design of its offerings. The Nokia 8110 4G feature was the first one to break cover with a unique and quirky design. However, these cannot be compared to the quirky phone designs that the brand has launched in the past.
Talking about the latest concept render, which shows an upcoming Nokia smartphone with a waterfall display, the device seems to have no side bezels and the display tapers off the sides formed curved edges. There is a minimal bottom bezel and a thin strip at the top to provide room for the earpiece, sensors, and selfie camera. This design adds a premium look to the smartphone.
Moving on to its rear, the Nokia smartphone with a waterfall display seems to feature a circular camera arrangement, which resembles the one we saw on the OnePlus 7T. The module seems to be raised from the body of the smartphone and appears to have five cameras along with the ZEISS branding, just like the Nokia 9 PureView. There is a 3D ToF sensor and an LED flash along with an ambiance sensor to the side of the camera module. There seems to be no audio jack on this smartphone and its bottom edge is neat with a single speaker grille and a USB Type-C port.
What We Think
Notably, this is the first time that we are coming across reports regarding a Nokia smartphone with a waterfall display. The concept images of the upcoming model seem to be futuristic. Though there is no authenticity regarding this report, it is interesting that Nokia will come up with a smartphone featuring a waterfall display.
