Nothing Phone (3a) Design Revealed Ahead of Launch: Here’s What’s New
Nothing is gearing up to launch its Phone 3a series globally on March 4, and as the date approaches, the company has started revealing details about its upcoming devices.
The latest teaser showcases the Nothing Phone 3a, the base model in the lineup, and while it shares some signature elements with its Pro sibling, it comes with a noticeably different camera setup.

A New Camera Design for the Base Model
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Nothing shared a glimpse of the Phone 3a's design, confirming that while the phone will carry the brand's recognizable Glyph interface, it won't look exactly like the Phone 3a Pro.
One of the biggest changes is in the rear camera module. Unlike the Pro model, which features a circular module with irregularly placed lenses, the Phone 3a opts for a pill-shaped camera layout positioned horizontally at the back. It houses three camera sensors, giving the device a more symmetrical and streamlined appearance.
Beyond this change, the overall design remains consistent with Nothing's minimalist approach-transparent elements, sharp edges, and the now-iconic Glyph LED strips surrounding the camera.
What to Expect: Leaked Specs and Features
While Nothing hasn't officially confirmed the hardware details, leaks suggest that the Phone 3a will come in black and white color options and may carry the model number A059.
In terms of performance, it is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which should deliver reliable mid-range performance with a focus on efficiency.
It's also rumored to feature a 6.72-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, making for smooth scrolling and a vibrant viewing experience.
Camera Setup
The triple-camera system on the Nothing Phone 3a is rumored to include:
- 50MP primary sensor for detailed shots
- 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom
- 8MP ultra-wide sensor for capturing more in a single frame
For selfies and video calls, a 32MP front camera is expected.
Battery and Charging
To keep things running, the Phone 3a is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery, which should easily last a full day. It's also expected to support 45W fast charging, helping users quickly top up their battery when needed.
How the Phone 3a Fits Into Nothing's Bigger Picture
The Nothing Phone 3a was revealed just days after the Phone 3a Pro's design was showcased, marking Nothing's latest attempt to carve out space in the increasingly competitive mid-range smartphone market. The brand has built a loyal following by focusing on bold design choices and a unique user experience, and this new launch will likely continue that trend.
With the official unveiling just around the corner, we won't have to wait much longer to see what Nothing has in store-including details on pricing, availability, and any exclusive features that might set the Phone 3a apart from the competition.
