Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro Series Launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, In-Built Cooling Fan

Nubia has become the third smartphone maker to release smartphones with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro and 9 Pro Plus follow the Xiaomi 14 series and iQOO 12 series to Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset.

The Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+ are equipped with a flagship chipset, 120Hz AMOLED display, a massive battery with fast charging support, and a triple-camera setup on the back. However, the star of the show is the new and improved ICE 13 cooling system.

Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro Specifications

The Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. To further improve performance, the Red Magic 9 Pro features a large 10182mm2 VC cooling area. The system also features a graphene layer under the screen, larger air ducts, and a 22,000 RPM fan inside.

The Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro also packs a massive 6,500 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The handset runs on Android 14 with Redmagic OS 9.0 on top. The Red Magic 9 Pro also sports a flat 6.8-inch 1.5K BOE Q9+ OLED display with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The panel boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and a 960Hz touch sampling rate.

For optics, the Red Magic 9 Pro features a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP Samsung GN5 primary sensor that supports OIS, a 50 MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro unit. Up front, the 16 MP selfie camera sits under the display. Additionally, the under-display fingerprint reader also doubles as a heart rate monitor.

Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro+ Specifications

The Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro Plus uses the same Snapdragon chip, although it comes with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Red Magic Pro+ also uses the same display, software, cameras, and cooling system as the Red Magic Pro. It also comes with the under-screen camera and fingerprint reader that doubles as a heart rate monitor.

However, the Red Magic 9 Pro Plus opts for a smaller 5,500 mAh battery with super-fast 165W wired charging support. Both devices also feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual stereo speakers, and an X-axis linear vibration motor. Nubia is expected to release the Red Magic 9 Pro series globally soon.
