OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition Launch: Two Design Features Incoming?

The OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition is slated for launch on March 29 at 1:30pm, according to the company. The new variant boasts of being made from a new material, but in all likelihood, will have similar specifications as that of the standard OnePlus 11.

OnePlus, in the buildup to the release, teased about the new launch being made from "unprecendented materials", which from teasers is being guessed to be 3D Micro Crystalline Rock material. Not much is clear about details of what this new build material would entail for the phone, except the obvious, that the smartphone would look and feel different from the regular OnePlus 11.

The OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition will be launched in a cream colour, which will join the available Black and Green colorways of the standard variants available in the market right now. A photo of the phone superimposed on planet Jupiter was part of the teaser put out by the brand.

Design features are the highlight of new OnePlus 11 variant

A year-long research and development process has gone into building this new variant, and the production system reportedly involved nine major components, including "Natural Graining." The back cover is the highlight, that has been made on a specific, customized production line. The brand also pointed out, that the new back material had a 50% yield rate, as compared to other usual glass variants. The only expected analysis of the information revealed so far was that it could be made from a rock, that has super fine crystals, which one cannot see with the naked eye.

However, not much else was revealed about this new element that'll be the show-stopper of the new phone, and one will have to wait till March 29 to get more details.

OnePlus 11: Specs and Features

The OnePlus 11 has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with Android 13-based OxygenOS 13. A 6.7 inch display, with QHD+ resolution and 1300 nits of peak brightness are what forms the base of interactions with the smartphone. When it comes to cameras, a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP 115˚ ultrawide camera and a 32MP 2x telephoto lens is what the phont boasts of. A 100W charging is what backs the 5000mAh battery.

The OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition is expected to retain these features.
