OnePlus 12 5G to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and a cutting-edge 2K OLED Display by BOE
Last week, OnePlus unveiled its inaugural foldable device, the OnePlus Open, which made its debut in India and other global markets. Today, the brand has joined forces with BOE to introduce its latest display innovation - the X1 OLED displays - within its domestic market.
OnePlus has additionally confirmed that these cutting-edge BOE X1 OLED display panels will be incorporated into the upcoming OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Ace 3 (possibly referred to as the OnePlus 12R in global markets).

A Standout Display
Furthermore, OnePlus proudly shared that its forthcoming flagship model, the OnePlus 12, has already achieved an A+ certification from DisplayMate. This marks the very first instance of a 2K resolution display attaining a DisplayMate A+ rating.
OnePlus asserts that the X1 display panels usher in six significant breakthroughs and nine pioneering achievements in terms of brightness, eye protection, and longevity. Let's delve into the specifics.
Shattering DisplayMate Records
The X1 display boasts the inclusion of Oppo's P1 display chip and a high-precision pixel calibration algorithm, ensuring heightened brightness, superior image quality, and reduced power consumption. Notably, the X1 display stands as not only the first 2K resolution display to secure a DisplayMate A+ rating but also breaks 18 DisplayMate A+ records in the process.
The latest OnePlus 12 display introduces multi-channel load reduction technology for their Oriental screens. In addition, they have created and implemented a cutting-edge sunlight highlight algorithm specifically designed for these screens.
These advancements have resulted in a remarkable 90% boost in performance while simultaneously reducing power consumption by 13%. Notably, these enhancements have enabled the brand to attain an impressive peak brightness of 2600 nits, setting a new standard for 2K display panels.
OnePlus 12 5G Prototype Showcased
OnePlus further claimed that Oriental screens will offer double the longevity compared to the prevailing industry standards. This achievement is attributed to their pioneering processes and technology developed in collaboration with BOE.
In addition, the brand unveiled that the forthcoming OnePlus Ace 3 will feature a cutting-edge 1.5K X1 display panel, with more comprehensive information on the handset's display specifications to be disclosed soon.
Notably, the company showcased prototypes of the OnePlus 12, which exhibited a distinctive placement of the alert slider along the left edge. This represents a potential first for OnePlus devices, as all previous OnePlus phones have featured the alert slider along the right edge.
