OnePlus 12 specifications leaked, suggesting a possible December launch

The OnePlus 11 5G was the only flagship smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker this year. OnePlus also announced a change in direction for its flagship strategy, all-but confirming that no 'Pro' or 'T' models would be unveiled this year in its flagship line-up.

OnePlus is also working on its first foldable smartphones, the OnePlus Z Fold and OnePlus Z Flip, which have been tipped to release sometime this year. However, another flagship phone in development is the OnePlus 12 5G. And ahead of its launch, tipster Yogesh Brar has given us some insight into the OnePlus 12.

OnePlus 12 Specifications (Expected)

According to the tipster, the OnePlus 12 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. However, considering Qualcomm isn't likely to unveil its next flagship chip anytime soon, the tipster's prediction about the phone launching in China sometime in December could be accurate.

Apart from the chip, the OnePlus 12 is also expected to use a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus 12 will pack the same 5,000 mAh battery as the OnePlus 11 and will offer the same 100W fast charging support.

For optics, the tipster notes that the OnePlus 12 5G will feature a triple-camera setup with a 50 MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS at the helm. The main camera will be paired with a 50 MP ultra-wide shooter, and a new and improved 64 MP periscope camera sensor.

The State of OnePlus Flagships

As of now, we are a long way from the launch of the OnePlus 12, so we'd recommend taking this information with a pinch of salt. However, if accurate, this leak suggests that users will have to wait until next year before seeing another flagship OnePlus smartphone.

The OnePlus 11 5G was arguably one of the best value-added flagship smartphones of 2023, which gives us a lot of reasons to be hopeful about its successor. The smartphone maker also recently unveiled the OnePlus 11 5G Marble Odyssey Limited Edition in India.
