OnePlus and Oppo are collaborating with BOE for the launch of a new display on October 24
OnePlus and Oppo are teaming up with display maker BOE to develop a new screen that will be the brightest display on a smartphone.
The Google Pixel 8 Pro and Oppo Find X6 Pro have some of the brightest displays on smartphones, peaking at 2,400 nit and 2,500 nits, respectively. However, this new display by OnePlus, Oppo, and BOE will crush those numbers.

OnePlus, BOE Display Event Date
According to an official post on Weibo, OnePlus will launch a new display in collaboration with BOE on October 24. The event is named "Sunrise East" and is set to take place in China. Moreover, the launch poster shared by OnePlus also has the Oppo branding, which suggests that it will also be a part of the announcement.
The post reads: "In 30 years, we have gone from lagging behind to catching up to surpassing." It describes the launch event as a historic moment for screens in China.
Class-Leading OnePlus Display
Tipster Digital Chat Station also shared some information about the upcoming display. The tipster notes that the upcoming BOE display will feature a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and a 2K resolution.
Additionally, the leaker also revealed that BOE plans on releasing smartphones with displays surpassing 3,000 nits of brightness with a 1.5K resolution. However, there's no information about the launch of these displays just yet.
OnePlus Open Display
At present, the OnePlus Open features the brightness display of any smartphone, with the main panel capable of reaching a peak brightness of 2,800 nits. Both displays use LTPO 3.0 technology and feature a 120Hz refresh rate.
The upcoming BOE display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits will likely arrive on the OnePlus 12 5G. According to reports, the OnePlus 12 5G will feature a 6.82-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The OnePlus 12 5G screen will also use LTPO technology.
