After the launch of the OnePlus 2 two months back, the Chinese OEM is now gearing up to launch its first mid-range device till date. Expected to release this fall, the alleged device dubbed OnePlus X made an early appearance at TENAA today.
However, the device isn't what most were hoping for. In case you are following the developments of the upcoming OnePlus device then you would be aware of the dual camera setup device that had surfaced a few weeks back.
The device spotted on TENAA however doesn't sport a dual camera setup nor a design aspect of the previous leaked render. Rather the device sports a slim profile with what appear like a glass back.
The back boasts of the popular OnePlus logo and the 13MP camera on top left side. The side profile is dominated by an all metal rim which houses the atypical notification slider as seen in the older sibling OnePlus 2.
The TENAA specs however doesn't give much info regarding what's under the hood. Previous leaks of the device had claimed that the OnePlus X will come with a Mediatek 6795T. In fact the device was seen in the Antutu Benchmark with 54,000 odd score.
However a recent leaks also hint at a Snapdragon 801 SoC under the hood. To add to the credibility of the claim is an Antutu Benchmark listing.
Hence it is expected that the OnePlus X will come two processor variants. But don't think OnePlus would be launching two of the device in a single country. It is expected that OnePlus would be bringing only the Snapdragon variant to India, considering patent infringement issues.
OnePlus India General Manager has also confirmed in an interview few days back that the upcoming OnePlus device will be more of a fashion product. And from what we have seen till now, the device definitely appears to be spot on. Rather it won't be wrong to state that the device looks rather similar to a Chinese counterpart - Gionee Elife S7.
